Redemption Kidz
In Redemption Kidz we create opportunities for children to receive Jesus Christ as Savior, and prepare them for a lifetime of Christian service. Combining fun activities with an age appropriate ciriculum, we work towards helping your children fully understand the Word of God. The bibilical truths we share are never changing, but the methods by which we present them are!
Children who understand worship and prayer, Godly principles and the Holy Spirit within, will have a future with truly UNLIMITED POSSIBILITIES!
Redemption Kidz have the opportunity to take part in fun, relationship building activities such as: musical drama, lock-ins, vacation bible school, camps, pool parties, roller skating, fall festivals, bowling and many, many more!
Nursery
Jesus loves the little children, and so do we! Our loving nursery team provides a clean, safe environment for children ages newborn through 23 months. At Redemption Church, even our youngest experience the love of Jesus!
Pre-School
Your little ones are so precious, which is why children ages 24 months through kindergarten have classes of their own during service. They get to experience praise and worship, and teaching of the Word through crafts, prayer time, and play time in a fun, safe environment where they can start growing their relationship with God.
Elementary School
Elementary School is the perfect time in a childs life to cultivate a firm foundation on the Word. That is what we work to build here at Redemption Church through teachings, hands on ministering to younger children, and enjoying the main service once a month along with their family. By building that firm foundation, it will help them to remain grounded in God for the rest of their lives!
Pastor Doug Swilley
Doug has come full circle. A Knoxvillian by birth, he lived in the Louisville, Atlanta and Nashville areas before joining the ministry team at Redemption Church in August of 2002. Doug started ministering to children and their families in 1979 and began fulltime service under Pastor Charles Cowan of Nashville, TN in 1985. Other mentoring influences include Willie George; Jim Wideman; Pastors Ed and Nora King of Redemption Church; and Harry Swilley, Doug’s father. Witnessing people as they experience God in meaningful ways – everything from answered prayer to leading a child to Christ and from tasting new levels in worship to conforming to the image of Jesus – these are his greatest rewards. He loves spending time with the wife of his youth, Paul Anne and their two children’s families whether camping, sight-seeing, sports or sharing about ministry.
